Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Rakul Preet Singh are back — and so is the sparkling chaos of modern love. The trailer launch of De De Pyaar De 2, held at a grand event in Gurugram on October 14, brought together an impressive cast: Meezaan Jafri, Javed Jaffrey, and Gautami Kapoor joined the leading trio to unveil what promises to be a fresh, fun, and emotionally tangled sequel.

But amid all the excitement, one question echoed louder than the applause:

Where is Tabu?

The Missing Muse

Tabu’s absence from the trailer took many fans by surprise. Her mature, layered chemistry with Ajay Devgn was one of the standout strengths of the 2019 hit, and her character added emotional depth to the otherwise bubbly rom-com.

Naturally, viewers are wondering if she’ll return — perhaps in a late twist, a cameo, or even an end-credits surprise.

Co-producer Luv Ranjan stoked the curiosity further, hinting,

“If everything goes well, a third part will happen — and then both families will finally meet.”

Ajay Devgn couldn’t resist adding a playful tease:

“When that happens, she’ll definitely be a part of it.”

Whether this is a gentle confirmation or just clever marketing, fans now have more reason than ever to speculate.

A New Lens on Love

While familiar faces return on-screen, the change behind the camera is just as intriguing.

Anshul Sharma — who was the creative producer of the first film — takes over as director, stepping into the shoes of Akiv Ali. Ajay Devgn backed the decision wholeheartedly:

Anshul was part of the process from day one.”

Luv Ranjan explained that Akiv simply wanted to explore a different genre this time, leaving the sequel in capable hands.

With a new director’s vision, R. Madhavan’s effortless charm, Rakul’s energy, and Devgn’s trademark deadpan humour, De De Pyaar De 2 is all set to offer a fresh spin on messy, modern relationships.

And maybe even a little mystery — the kind only Tabu could complete.

Mark the Date

The film releases in cinemas across India on November 14, promising love, laughter, complications — and perhaps something (or someone!) unexpected.
